Bedroom view

Wanted to capture the lovely morning sun as I awoke at no.8 but phone camera doesn't do it justice of course.
Tried to sort Bryn's passport application at lunchtime, but Post Office pointed out about 8 flaws - mainly errors by the countersignatory, the careworker who is "head" of the home he lives in (including her signature going over the lines...). Managed to get Tracy at Cheswood Drive, sort the issues, including getting a cover letter from his GP to explain why he would be unable to conduct a one-to-one interview with a passport official about his family, his history, etc (I wouldn't be able to "translate" or support...). But now need to fill in a new application form, wait for the GP letter, then send it all away... Think we're getting there, and I'm just about managing to stay calm...
Decent day on the phones, 5 sales, so winning Tenerife holiday still within the realms of possibility... Working in Birmingham office is quite different from Doncaster - four people rather than 15+, and much quieter and more laid back. No "big swinging dicks" here - the top seller is a kind, thoughtful guy - and turns out we played rugby with many of the same people back in the 80s, though being a couple of years older than me I never actually played against him. He went on to play professionally, mainly for Coventry before starting at Pieroth as his rugby career wound down 18 years ago.
WTEs in Rugby and Stratford were quite challenging - the first one with 8 friends in their 30s, constantly talking over me, chatting with each other, going in and out of the room, etc - like trying to conduct a tasting in a busy pub... Small sale, but had been hoping for 4+ sales from such a big group of 'professionals'. Second one was three couples in their late 50s, the two male guests knew a lot about wine, already use the very reputable Wine Society for their wines, one has shares in a vineyard in France... The hosts were very kind and hospitable, and I did stay and chat for a bit and held my own in wine conversation with the two "experts"!! The host said he knew I'd want a decision there and then, but they'd decided beforehand they would wait till "the cold light of day" before deciding that, so we'll see...
