Friday brunch

The Friday brunch is something of an institution in Dubai. Wikipedia used to have an entry on the 'Dubai Brunch' (obviously different from brunches elsewhere in the world - and not just because there they are peculiarly Sunday affairs). "Many large hotels and restaurants offer an all-inclusive drinks and food buffet during early afternoons, and large groups of expatriates and tourists make this the highlight of their weekend, with parties going on well into the night," was how Wiki put it.

We spent the afternoon at Yalumba with ex-colleagues, one of whom is finally leaving Dubai to retire with his wife in the Philippines.
