Guardian Angels - Update 2nd photo of the day

Our 2nd walk but this time in the opposite direction. Went very well at first, tractors no problem, bank of stream was a bit slippery & she fell in but no problem and she quickly went back in - well just the toes! Then passed a herd of cows; as with the horses not to be trusted but then Lina slipped under the wire fence to inspect the cow pats. I was filming at the time & said I didn't think there was any juice as the fence hung on the ground in many places. At that moment she walked in to the fence & there followed the most heartbreaking yowling. Luna shot off and disappeared in the distance. Tried to get Flash to follow her but he was too slow. Exactly the same thing had happened with Flash when he was a pup and on the same fence but within sight of home and he had walked there several times before. He shot off & headed home not hearing or seeing anything else. Luna did exactly the same but we were probably 1.5 km from home & she didn't know the way!
Well we made our way home and were joyfully greeted by Luna sitting on the terrace, as if nothing had happened! An hour later, my heartbeat is only slowly getting back to normal!

Had a great success yesterday evening - Flash had up to now "accepted" Luna but unwillingly. When Angie came home in the evening, he greeted her as he has for the last 9 years when Luna tried to come between the two. Flash showed his teeth & growled and Luna realised he was serious. She subordinated herself, licking constantly at Flash and now they are the best of friends and even play together.Have the feeling he now feels responsible for her. He was clearly concerned when she ran off today and when he (too late) realised what had happened he left my side and tried to find her, something he would normally never do.

This afternoon we will go for a walk in Ottobeuren - less dangerous & a chance to see how she reacts to getting in a car again. As Flash loves car trips, I think it should be a positive experience, especially important as next car trip on Thursday will be to vet for last vaccination!
