Cemetery Tour of WWI soldier's graves
A member of our Hanover Historical Society Board, John Galluzzo, and our director, Stephen O' Neill led us on a WWI gravestone tour through Hanover Center Cemetery this morning. The walk was a wet one with torrential rain at times. I’m standing by my paternal grandfather‘s headstone, a U.S. Army Pvt, 101st Regiment 26th “Yankee” Division Veteran. There were only five of us due to the weather. I managed to take photos with the weather resistant Leica SL, but the conditions were less than ideal. We'll do it again, and John needs to do more research to locate other gravestones of veterans. Three Hanover boys gave their lives including my great Uncle Leon Josselyn, but many served and came home to Hanover and have been laid to rest in the lovely cemetery.
Lest We Forget
For the Record,
This day came in with wild rain and wind. The rain has subsided, but the wind is still strong. Clocks fall back tonight.
All hands looking forward to a friend coming for dinner and overnight.
