Poppies

In Bolton area on the run up to Remembrance Sunday these big poppies are displayed on lampposts to raise money for the Royal British Legion.  They first started appearing a couple of years ago, there were a few around and about, but this year there are loads.  It seems like every street I drive down has some poppies. They are sponsored by local companies and are an effective way of raising money and the profile of such a worthy cause, especially this year as it is the centenary of the ending of WWI.
