Heavy traffic

One of the joys of walking in the forest is the relative solitude, but not so today! Part way through our walk we came across a gentleman in running gear and a dayglo jacket who warned us that there was a race in progress and that a number of runners were on their way, currently a mile away.  He wasn't wrong!  The highest number vest that I can see in my photos is 498, so you know roughly how many of these running enthusiasts eventually went by.
We had to stand to one side in the interests of self preservation, so I didn't feel the need to seek permission to snap away.  Indeed I rather think that some of them thought that I was there in an official capacity!  Once they had passed by, peace returned and Zeus09smum, Zeus and I continued our walk as usual.
