Winter sets in

You know it's nearly winter when the #balconysunrise gets started in earnest. I've actually been out on the balcony photographing the morning light on several occasions in the last few days, but the colour today was another level entirely. In the opposite direction, there was a pink tinge over the castle and the St James centre cranes.

It hasn't been a very exciting day. I went to the dentist for a while - having something done that I personally think is a waste of time and money. I'm not sure why I allowed the dentist to persuade me it was a good idea (for their bank balance, of course, it is...). One consequence of spending so long with my mouth open is that I have a sore throat this evening.

Other than that, I got on with a peer review job that needed doing, and wrestled with some emails and some other bits of admin. One good piece of news is that ED is in town this week. I was going to go to a lecture that she would have been at this evening, but I decided against that when I had to deliver my bike to have some work done on it when I got back from Portobello.
