Me and My Shadow

A spider walking on water in the hedgehog’s water bowl. I was fascinated by the interaction between the spider, water tension and sunlight. The spider appears to have invisible paddles on its feet to cast those shadows. I love the halos on parts of the shadow, but the hairy legs are plain. Where the feet and backside touch the water the speckles are distorted like little explosions. As well as all that the bubbles on the surface of the bowl contain part of their own shadows.

I rescued the spider before leaving it.
