The Clock House
My plan for re-visiting the canal today was scuppered by a visit to the doctors and getting my haircut and commitments for the afternoon so that is on hold until tomorrow.
An easier trip for me is the River Colne which runs through Watford and has been diverted in places for various reasons, one being through Hamper Mill House a cotton mill built in 1290 and later changed to a paper mill. It was damaged in 1793 and is now a private dwelling.
The Clock House was the Mill owners home and the lake in front of the house is a natural lake unconnected the River Colne.
Its a lovely area to wander as there is also the large Hamper Mill Lake close by as well.
