Ginkgo, Mote Park

This is stretching the Tiny Tuesday rather. It’s a pity that we passed this tree when we did as it was dull and drizzly, half an hour later it would have been magnificent in the sunshine. Earlier I’d cycled into town for a dental appointment only to find it’s next week!

Apparent it’s a Ginkgo tree, one of many specimen trees planted in Mote Park over 200 years ago. It’s an entry for Tiny Tuesday because as with all trees their grandeur is made up of thousands of tiny leaves. So this massive specimen is so fascinating because of all those tiny components.

Tidying the garden was my afternoon task while Susan was out with her mum. Cleared the greenhouse of the old tomato plants, cut the grass (hopefully for the last time this season), edged all around and swept up. Finished off with a run then cooked chickpea curry for dinner.

Thanks to Jill for hosting Tiny Tuesday
