Winter's larder
The world was grey
The world was soggy
The path was wet
The path was boggy
The briar scratched
and tore the coat
The hawthorn whipped
across the throat
The rain ran in
and chilled the neck
The dog's all manky
what the heck!
The leaves are on
the ground in curds
to leave the hips
to feed the birds.
