Birch leaves

Ochtertyre Road is very well wooded (see extra). I walked along there this morning to give the dog a breath of air while Cameraman and the three year old were at the farm's indoor play area. Thank goodness for that on a damp and breezy day. Along the road there were beech, oak and birch trees showing their lovely colours, even in the absence of sunshine.

I was awake for hours in the night listening to the US midterm election results. I had to turn the radio off in the end as I was too engrossed to sleep. Now of course, in the mid afternoon, I'm flagging. There were certainly some positive signs from the election. I remember learning about the US system of government 'checks and balances' many decades ago. Let's hope they've been somewhat restored. Time will tell I suppose.
