Stephenson's Rocket
Stephenson's Rocket was an early steam locomotive built for the Rainhill Trials held by the Liverpool and Manchester Railway in 1829 to choose the best design to power the railway. It won the competition. It is currently on display at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester and on 28 April 2019 will move to the National Railway Museum in York.
