Sowood Poppy Trail

In oder to avoid some roadworks I took a detour home through Sowood village. 

The Sowood WI have set out a number of Poppy Trails which map out the places where  87 men from Sowood, Stainland and Holywell Green lived. These men  answered the call to arms and were never to return.

As well as the silhouettes, the routes are mapped out with wild poppies and various motifs and window decorations.
