Not a normal propellor and a shaft to the main diesel engine but a 360 degrees turnable propellor with electric motor. So-called "diesel-electric".
Seen at Meyer Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
WE were on an excursion with my (former) employer.
They built huge cruiseliners out there.
