Resplendent Quetzal

Today we left the heat and humidity of the lowlands and headed into the cloud forest.  We are now comfortably lodged in individual bungalows 8500 feet above sea level, and sometimes above the clouds.  It’s a bit chilly here and quite welcome. After checking in we went looking for Quetzals.  I only got a few shots of them but one male Quetzal very obligingly posed out in the open, long enough to get off a few shots.  As always, I love the close-up, but I will try to load an extra so you can see the extraordinary tail.  I suspect you may see a few of these blipped tonight…..if we can get online.
