GLORY DAYS pt.2...
With this month being the month of rememberance and the first landing of that huge Mig Fulcrum style aircraft on China's new sparkly Aircraftcarrier, i felt i should post a era passed photo...It is strange to me that a country that honors their military should leave this 1950s Mig aircraft to the elements and abuse. I have a special place for aircraft of any kind in my heart...they take us to where we really cannot go as humans...flying like birds...
This plane to me is interesting because of the 001 marking...was it the first one made?...was it a Flight Commanders craft?...questions...always questions...in Canada the Saber Jet fought with these little swept wing planes...
If you go to the Air/Space University here in Nanchang you will find 3 wonderfully preserved and restored Chinese Migs...A bit sad 001 is not with them. (Photo by Iain Dewar)
