The air quality has been pretty awful all day here in Redwood City.  I took this around 3:45 p.m.  Ugh.

Checked in with a friend up in Grass Valley, much closer to the fires than we are, and their skies had only just begun to look threatening.  Interesting how the particulates settle in various regions, the topography, wind and localized micro climates must trap it.  Spoke to ABC (he lives in Glen Park in the City) and he had ash dropping out of the sky this morning where he is.
