Autumn Invader

Imagine my joy being woken by this creature early this morning. My first thought was however to blip it. My second thought was thwarted by its cunning move to a higher resting point, coupled with my strong inclination to go back to sleep.

Where did it come from?

Is it in fact a mosquito?
