Sandham Memorial Chapel
I visited this 1920's chapel with my good friend and fellow blipper R4T today.
It is Stanley Spencer's monument to the 'forgotten dead' of the First World War and is unique to the victims in Salonika.
The vast murals cover the walls inside from top to bottom and depict some of the suffering he saw. The effect was overwhelming. Quite stunning.
We were not allowed to take photos inside, unfortunately.
It is well worth a visit.
