Very Wet and Windy!
Extreme weather today - luckily I got the morning walk done in the dry and the opening of the hens! I spent a considerable amount of time on my return to securing the meditation room from Oscar whilst still allowing Milkshake in and out, and myself when I want to meditate! . My first attempt with hook screws and rope failed. Oscar had the screw ripped out the wall on his first attempt! Unfortunately I could not find the screw and could only think he had swallowed it. I quelled my panic and swept the room again - finally found it behind the mirror which is resting on the floor - can't imagine how it got right behind it but so thankful to have found it. My next attempt meant getting a wooden screen door out from behind my clothes and numerous boxes in the attic. I put it inside and across the room far enough back so the door would open inwards. This involved moving the two screens already in there and my huge Queen of the Night plant. Unfortunately when I shoved on it hard as I knew Oscar would,( he stands up and throws himself at doors with both front paws up on the door!) all 3 doors fell into the room and my plant with them! My third attempt meant lashing the sideways placed door to the wooden frame the Immersion heater is sat on - success! However opening the door involves careful manoeuvring like the 2 stage gates one finds in the countryside. Open the door, move in to the right hand recess, close the door, move forward then step over the sideways door! Not easy when holding a cup of tea as I was later in the afternoon when I went in to meditate - good job it was a calming cup of chamomile tea! At first I couldn't;'t work out how to get in! Good job I was nice and calm by the time it came to manoeuvring myself out!
The Exile came down late afternoon to do some printing - this entails running up and downstairs switching the printer on and off to re-establish a connection! Managed to print the first 7 sheets of the first application and then the second after several on and offs but then the printer just got silly and she told me to give up! I would have persisted and carried on till the job was done but she closed down her computer!
The last puppy class was cancelled as the other two women would not drive in such conditions! I resigned myself to a wet and blustery evening walk with Oscar but to my delight there was a break in the weather - must have been the eye of the storm for as soon as we got back to the front door the heavens opened! For some bizarre reason Oscar went absolutely loopy once inside! Leaping in the air and bounding from one side of the room to another! Strange dog!
