Red Winged Blackbird

Oh, how I love those red wings! As common as these birds are, they seem skittish, and I've never been able to sneak up on them. This morning I was ready to be happy with just the sitting bird, that little band of red would have been enough, and then a dog came by and boom, they were gone. Luckily I had both my wits about me and managed to push the button.

The Extra is a morning shot of how bad the air is here right now. Everyone in California is posting these shots. I wore a mask when we went walking, but I'm glad to be back inside. In the afternoon we went to see The Old Man and the Gun, a perfect escape from the smoke.
