Lest We Forget............

These are just some of the 61, 513 hand knitted/crocheted poppies, each different, representing an Australian soldier lost in WW1. All poppies are individually unique as were those who never returned.

I was at Kings Park at 5am hoping for a spectacular sunrise to shine on the  memorial and the surrounding poppies. Nope! Thick cloud.(See extra)  It was still rather moving with 3 pipers practicing in 3 different places around the poppies. Goosebumps. Well I did attend a school where we were piped in to assembly every Friday. And we wore tartan. And berets.
