DIFFERENT
Across the World today this special 100 years anniversary will be viewed . . . the end of World War One. Memories of my recent visit to The Menin Gate come swiftly to mind.
My Blip today . . . A Different Post . . . is designed as just that . . . different. The origin of a bugle playing The Last Post dates back to the days when an army set up camp for the night. The site had to be guarded and so each evening the Master At Arms would walk around the camp perimeter to see if the guards were in place. When he reached the last sentry . . . The Last Post . . . he asked the Bugler to play so that the army inside could rest knowing that their site was well guarded and it was safe to rest.
Here is the last post on the green . . . and for a different sound option enjoy this link . . . well worth a listen. A different version for this very different day.
Hope you all have a grand week ahead !
