Pages of the sea

Wen to Ayr this morning to see the pages of the sea remembrance. So moving, particularly the silhouettes people were making to mark their own remembrance. Carol Ann Duffy’s poem handed to everyone who went onto the beach
“History might as well be water, chastising this shire:
for we learn nothing from your endless sacrifice.
Your faces drowning in the pages of the sea,”
