November 11th

I have just watched Peter Jackson’s film “They Shall not Grow Old” . A film where silent footage of life in the trenches is brought to life subtly, so that it was like travelling into the past.
Earlier today we went to a joint service in the next village, where the tiny church was packed. Far away from any town or main roads, the two minute silence was truly silent.
10 young men from that tiny community were lost in WW1, and more than twice that number from our village nearby.
