Watched ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’ tonight. Grim, awful and utterly compelling.
The description by the tank driver of driving over bodies because there was no way to avoid them brought home the carnage. Utterly dreadful. I cannot imagine how any of the survivors were ever able to return to anything like a normal life.

Football this morning. Lost 3-0 in a really good game. Pleased to report that the minute silence at 11 was observed impeccably by both teams. Sport seems very trivial at times.
