Moseley Old Hall

This National Trust property doesn’t look very old, but that’s because the old house was covered with brick to protect it.

The farmhouse was actually built around 1600. Charles II hid here after escaping the Battle of Worcester in 1651. This place has a notable and interesting history.

I’d not been there for ages and I got lost getting there. It’s hard to have the place to yourself for a few minutes. The guides, who dress up, are enthusiastic and tend to overlap. I did, however, manage a quiet ten minutes in the chapel to take in the feel of this amazing historic property.
