Lapwing

A few spells of watery sunshine, a few more spells of rain and it's still only the early afternoon .... I thought about gathering up leaves but they're too soggy and wet .... a task for another day!

In between showers I managed a couple of circuits of the loch. It was very quiet on the water .... no Greylag geese, the cygnets have gone, no sign of the herons but I did see some lapwings sheltering down on the mossy rocks.

Those birds are so sensitive that the minute they sense a rather clumsy photographer approaching they're off .... a few circles in the air and then they settled on the island out of reach of my camera:-((
