Walking over Fye Bridge on my way home from film studies, the evening light was lovely : new moon in the sky and my Swan pals on the ramp. I scuttled home to get Fuji for this. It's given me so much pleasure to follow them from the link above to this.
The extra : Art dept reflected in the Wensum. Appropriate somehow after film studies. Today was a quick gallop through " The Jazz Singer " first film that partially included sound. " Grand Hotel " which cemented the Hollywood star system. " Stagecoach" directed by John Ford used deep focus for the 1st time. Orson Welles was a huge fan and was said to have watched it 48 times, to then make " Citizen Kane " : the first Art House Film.
The treat was a long clip of Roberto Rossellini's " Rome, Open City " , the film that stated Italian Neo Realism. We all wanted to watch it all through.
