Farewell Cumbria

Sadly its time to go home and leave John & Gail Gravett who have looked after us so well for the past few days. The day broke with clear sky and snow on the tops - typical!

On the way I had time to walk down Derwentwater to Friars Crag and put some of John's tuition into practice. The view was truly stunning. I particularly like the tangled mass of roots.

I wonder what is the story behind the bunch of flowers at the base of the tree.
