A Wet Afternoon...
Back in Shrewsbury Town to take in some more culture :-) En-route from the Cathedral to the Abbey the heavens opened and it poured with rain.
We spotted a pub and took shelter within. The Nag's Head - what a gem.
The pub dates from c1500 and is a real pub. Very friendly with 'Fine Dining' on offer for £3. You could have a Pork Pie with Pickled Onions and Mustard - or - you could have Pickled Onions with a Pork Pie and Mustard - such choice........The barman also did a special with his great Draught Beers - for the price of a pint he would serve you two halves in one glass.
Out the back there was an even older building - dating back to 1340. Therefore our cultural tour continued despite the rain.
In fact we absorbed so much local culture that, when we did arrive down at the Abbey, it had closed for the day.
