Lilies of the Field
Two thousand years ago the "lilies of the field" mentioned in the New Testament was most likely a referral to flowers in general rather than what we now call lilies. Today I am celebrating the first flowering of Crocus hyemalis which grows in vast quantities in Galilee and surrounding areas, a lily of the field. In nature it flowers when the rains come, sometimes mid-winter. My plants came as seed in 2015 from a friend who lives in Israel.
Indoor jobs this morning, outdoor jobs this afternoon. I've installed a small shelf unit at the end of the kitchen. The kitchen table is my office, this will help me keep better order.
