Ghosts of the past

I've been delving into Diana"s family history and traced descendants of her grandfather (cousins) to this house in the early 1900s. One was named Cecil Thompson and it would appear that he has left a permanent reminder of his time here.

Had this been down south it would have been lost as pretty much every house is double glazed but for whatever reason, up north, they hang on to their original windows, especially in period proprieties like this one.

Cecil's mother was widowed in 1927 and was left £117,000 by her late husband. Unlike many in her position she didn't remarry; I don't think she struggled financially.
