Wound up in Wexford

I'm at a conference this week. Partly for the education, but mainly for the social.

FASSGEM (Forum for Associate Specialists and Staff Grades in Emergency Medicine) grew from the conferences organised by Iain and Ken. They laid on educational meetings in Plymouth starting in 1995. The first year, there were 2, so this year is the 25th conference. It was their enthusiasm and dedication that got us organised, and after 10 years or so, we were able to build on their foundations and start to organise our own conferences, moving around the country. This year we're in Derby.

Iain and Ken have long retired, but this year were persuaded to come along to cut the cake, and be presented with gifts, in gratitude for their early work for our benefit. It was lovely to meet them again, and reminisce about those early meetings.
