Cambusnethan House

Mr Flum found a reference to this house so, being interested in old and abandonned buildings, we decided to drive over to Wishaw and take a look.

Set on a high point overlooking the River Clyde, considered to be one of the finest designed by James Gillespie Graham and completed in 1820, Cambusnethan House, (aka Cambusnethan Priory), was converted to a hotel in 1980 which closed in 1984. It is grade A listed and appears on the Scottish Civic Trust Buildings At Risk Register.

Despite today's frosty sunshine it appears in a sad state, having been left to the elements and the vandals and is now considered in danger of collapse.
