A fragmented day. (Back blip)
Monday was a fragmented day.
I took the photo through our interior glass door to represent it.
One of those days when there were little tasks to finish and to plan for others to complete!
At least now I have some sort of Christmas card list........somewhat edited this year.
I ordered a couple of presents for two of our grandchildren, which will be delivered free to one of our local stores.
It saves having to go into Birmingham on the Cross City Line, 25 minutes, and then lug everything home on the train.
I find it hard these days to carry a lot of heavy shopping.
I do like to go in and see the Christmas lights however, and we always go to the Advent service at the Cathedral. I love Advent. It is a contemplative service which is so different from the usual type of service we experience in our present lively youth filled Vineyard church in the City centre which has lots of University students who attend.
In our time we have been to a Free Church near Portsmouth, after we were married and moved there for Stephen's work, it was the nearest church.
Then spent 35 years at Sutton Baptist Church also a large lively one with over 500 members.
We moved to our present one three years ago and it is a much smaller gathering. It's good to see somewhere different and have different perspectives. However, I still love the old liturgy too of the Anglican church.
I was taken to church from an early age, in Rossendale, Lancashire, and sang in the church choir for almost 8 years learning how to sing metrical Psalms. I love Choral music.
We had a wonderful Choir master who was semi professional introducing us to choral anthems from the great Oratorios, like Steiner's Crucifixion and of course the Messiah. Good to experience variety. A bit like life!
Tea time beckons.
