Mrs Evil Goat

By MrsEvilgoat

This cat was in the middle of Morrisons car park, meowing his head off and dodging the cars when I finished the food shop at 9pm. I couldn't just leave him there to get run over and he seemed really distressed, but very friendly. I put him in the car and rang M to ask him to call ahead to the vets to see if the could scan him. They wanted nothing to do with it, but I didn't find that out till I had driven over there and was sat in their car park with the cat on my knee! M had been told to ring the RSPCA. We got an automated message saying cats had the right to roam and you should leave them (to get run over in the middle of a busy car park?! ).

Had no idea what to do. It was too dangerous to drive anywhere with a cat sat on my knee plus our dogs would go nuts! M couldn't come out with a box cos the kids were in bed. Anyway a vet who was about to go home came out and knocked on the window. He agreed to scan the cat to see if he was chipped. Unfortunately he wasn't. Cat was obviously someone's pet as was in very good condition and very tame. The vet leant me a crate and told me I needed to take him back where I found him. I took him to a housing estate near to the back of Morrisons. No idea if that was where he was from. He sat there for a bit then stalked off into the night. Maybe I did the wrong thing but I'm sure if i left him then he would have got squashed. Will never know if he made it home.
