Night Carriage at Seville Cathedral
A view returning from an excellent evening meal in Seville--a few parapets of the huge cathedral are in the background. The carriage owner was not in view, though I didn't really look for him. The no parking sign on the left notes that horses and carriages are permitted.
A wonderful day--most of it at Seville's sprawling Royal Alcazar (a combined palace and castle)--I've linked to the Spanish Wiki page, which is far more extensive than the English. I took over 200 shots; several potential blips, but the mood of this one persuaded me.
Late afternoon we visited the Hospital de los Venerables--a compact baroque complex including a church, cloisters and exhibition spaces. It was originally built as a shelter for aging and disabled priests. The small church is gorgeous, and it also now houses a superb selection of Velasquez, Zurbaran and their contemporaries. But the special feature was a wonderful exhibition on Murillo and his most important patron (coming to the Dulwich Picture Gallery in February--though not yet on their website).
