Tale of Woe

Got in the car this morning to do the weekly shop, and the steering felt the tyres were flat.  Then the 'battery is not charging' light came on.  So took it for a little drive around town to see if things would right themselves.  Then other lights came on, and then the signals started acting up.  So I took it to the garage, where it wouldn't restart.  At least it wasn't at the supermarket. The garage thinks it's the alternator or the belt.
