Julia
Double culture day as I attended 2 wonderful events.
In the afternoon I saw Shakespeare in Love at the Kings Theatre. I haven’t been to a matinee in decades and even though it was maybe just a third full the company gave it their all and it was excellent. I love the movie so seeing it live was very special. Excellent use of a minimal set with a rotating section. Would recommend seeing if it comes your way.
Dashed home for quick bite and pick up G then out again to the Queens Hall to see Woman to Woman - Judy Tzuke, Beverly Craven and Julia Fordham. Wow, it was amazing. While G is a fan of Judy and I wanted to see Julia it was Beverly who was a bit of a revelation - great voice, very witty and a brave lady: she’d recently had a double mastectomy and was putting off chemo until this section of the tour is completed early December. Wishing her all the best.
My highlight was seeing Julia Fordham play live, I’ve been a fan for about 30 years, she has a unique and beautiful voice. She performed Love Moves in Mysterious Ways and it was just the most beautiful thing.
