Free Concert

Not everyone likes Country Music but it was all I listened to for most of my life. Teen years had me listening to Herman's Hermits, the Beatles, and The Who but it didn't last long. Today was a real treat.

This is Country star Rodney Atkins, Country Music Association's Top New Male Vocalist of 2006. Atkins is known for the hits "Honesty (Write Me a List)," "If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)," "Watching You," "These Are My People," "It's America" and "Farmer's Daughter." Even though he only sang for 30 minutes, I enjoyed the show.

As with most events, I people watch more than anything. It was a cold damp day but I saw kids of all ages with no sweaters, coats or shoes. The parents were right there with them but they had coats and sweaters on. One of the little girls, no more than 9 years old had shorts on that were about two inches below her cheeks. Her legs were almost purple and chill bumps all over her. Mom was with her and it was all I could do not to slap that mom silly.

I've been in a writing mood lately so my journal entries will be accompanied by my meandering words of wisdom, stupidity or thoughts. It's a new year of blipping and I want to make it interesting for myself and I hope for you too.
