Bird Scarer

No sooner had I sat down to do my daily bird count than this beautiful Sparrowhawk arrived on the hedge. It meant that there were no other birds to count fo a while, but eventually he took flight and within 5 minutes, normal service had resumed.
Last night we went to a Bird group meeting where 3 members of the RSPB bird crime team talked to us about rapture persecution. It made for grim listening, especially as much of it is happening on our doorstep - so that people with too much money can shoot defenceless grouse. Cruel and cowardly!
