Apples in the Morning
Loved the early light on these Starking apples from the Beira Alta region in northern Portugal, wonderful smell and flavour. Sadly, bought in a plastic bag.
Spent the morning handpicking ripe purple olives to preserve, fifteen kilos, and that was only from the lower branches of a couple of trees. Delightful work, with the sunshine through the trees and birds flitting around. We've offered the olives (around 200 trees) to the Roma to finance their church building, but still waiting to see if they'll take us up on it.
Should never have taken my camera on our afternoon walk - sunset in extra, should it have been my main? but I did love the apples...
Off now for pizza with the Padre and others.
