Matagouri

This native bush is one that you don’t want to fall in to as it has very sharp thorns! It is sometimes called “Wild Irishman”....I’m not too sure why, but in my imagination maybe an Irishman did grab it while climbing a hill or fall into it, and I’m sure that would make him VERY wild!

It was lovely seeing the little white flowers on it as we walked up Mt Iron this morning. We walked a little later than usual and the track was very popular! Town is starting to get a little busier, and soon it will be the “silly season”, as locals call it. Many, many visitors for a couple of months, and peaking at New Year.
