It's the little things

Two months ago, my car engine exploded. Not a fun experience, nor was finding out that car fire extinguishers could probably put out a cigarette but are no match for a mess of burning plastic, oil and flames 3ft high. Anyway, much wrangling with loss adjustors, etc later, I have another car, which last night failed in a totally different way. The weirdly sophisticated locking mechanism on the petrol cap cover failed. Such a tiny, tiny thing that renders this heavy, complex piece of machinery totally useless (because I was obviously driving on fumes when I stopped to fill up).
