Moon raise
What a beautiful wintry day. A day of retail therapy. A basic unit from Ikea in which to store my growing collection of craft accessories, and a new fully computerised sewing machine (to be delivered Thursday or Friday - how exciting!) to replace my 25 year old Toyota model that died yesterday.
Also a difficult day in some ways. We attended a service of thanksgiving for the life of someone we knew while we attended our previous church in Edinburgh. He died tragically in an accident at work 3 weeks ago, aged 32. Although we didn't know Tim well, we knew he loved his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This was evident to all whose paths crossed his, whether they had a faith of their own or not. The service was both moving, yet full of hope. His family are a great witness and testimony to the certain hope that we share with them in Jesus. Their love and assurance in the midst of their deep grief was both an encouragement and a challenge to me. If I could even impact just one or two lives in the positive way in which Tim impacted the lives of the hundreds of people who attended his memorial service, and those who were not able to, I would be satisfied!!
