New Life

Last years Amaryllis bulbs have been quietly sitting on my bedroom window sill, not watered since September. I noticed one of them had started sprouting, so I did a gloriously messy task of renewing the compost but keeping them in the same pots. I sat them in water in the kitchen sink to unravel the roots and remove the old compost, gave them some new compost, watered them well and moved them into my warm living room. I did that Wednesday, I can almost see them growing.
I do love the old po one sits in.
