Ambition fulfilled!

Since 1976 it has been my half in jest/ wholly in earnest ambition to live within three miles of an M&S Food. I have contemplated the horrible prospect of moving house to Newton Mearns, Bearsden, Southwaite Services or Edinburgh Gyle. I have eyed with curiosity each new building at Glasgow Fort: could it be? No it couldn't.

Endless trips to the city for the Percy Pigs have taken their toll.

But today !!!!!!!!!!!! Today I have been spending too much in Coatbridge's brand new M&S Simply Food. Delirious shoppers, parking like maniacs; crossing randomly in front of traffic; buying stuff they can't afford and in the background the sound of sobbing from the management offices of the big Tesco extra store.

So we can call off the removal men!
