Battle of the Birds

This is one of the magpies that was involved in a battle with seagulls this morning. We don’t know what triggered it, but the seagulls were continuously swooping low over the tree which had about five magpies in it. Then a crow appeared to be joining in on the side of the magpies. And they were all flying round squawking. Then a lot of feathers descended into the garden. It was all very strange. Eventually the seagulls flew away and calm was restored.

It feels much colder today than it has been up to now.
